Icaronycteris, Arkham Asylum opening page) tear through the very fabric of the Multiverse, which I’m sure was Morrison’s EXACT intention due to its foreshadow in Orion’s death by the very weapon BATMAN broke HIS ONE RULE for. In order to “make a god bleed” by pure strength of WILL Alone, and exemplifying THE POWER of the Human Spirit, knowing that the very act would require him to absorb Darkseid’s Soul, BATMAN transgressed the boundary conditions of his Archetype’s survival for the sake of the World. For if we’re to learn anything from “The Clown at Midnight,” it’s that the JOKER was LEGION.
